The sun is shining (kind of), and I am happy to present you my first, self directed, crafty project.
As I promised, this will be my crafty year so I am trying to find new ways to be crafty!
A few weeks ago I got interested by the idea of repurposing old necklaces with maybe an old look into something different.
This would not only let me save money, by preventing me from buying new necklaces, but would also let me save my old jewellery from a very boring life in the drawer
Now, as I have never done anything beads related I decided to dedicate my first attempt to a very cheap necklace I got from a street market in Salerno (Italy). The metal wire was bended and I didn’t like the look anymore.
I cut the wire and took all the beads out and tread them with an elastic transparent wire, this way I would be able to wear it in different styles, also this is one of the easier beading technique, so it was a win-win situation.
I realise this is not probably the best good looking necklace around, but it gave me a good idea of what could be achieved with some spare time and a beading needle.
If you have done this before, I will be glad to ear some tips from someone who already mastered this art.
The interesting part is that I can take my beading box to the park and work on it on my pic-nic blanket! Isn’t that great?
Ok, now, if the sun would do me a favour and show up…
